Daviess County French Oak Barrel Finished Bourbon is a blend of a wheated bourbon mash bill and a high-rye bourbon mash bill. While the exact age statement is unknown, the bourbon is finished for 6 months in French oak barrels, achieving enviable layers of complexity. Bottled at a pleasant 96 proof, the nose greets with honey, vanilla and caramel while the exceptionally smooth palate bears hints of chocolate and oak. An elegant but lively expression, it’s a unique oak-finished bourbon that manages to be delicate and bold at the same time. Definitely best enjoyed neat.
