The thick layers of Black Forest cake frosted with meltingly sweet marshmallow cream and stuffed with decadently preserved fruits is a dessert both divinely rich and luxurious – just as a sip of The Macallan 1824 Series Select Oak Single Malt Scotch. This masterfully crafted malt whiskey swirls with an aroma of warmly toasted oak spiced with black pepper, melted marshmallows, chocolate cake batter, and fruits. The taste is a rush of nutty goodness with slices of almonds dipped in vanilla, strips of vintage leather soaked in sherry, and bright bites of citrus peel layered over ginger candies. Originally scheduled for duty-free release only, and now largely sold out in Europe, this edition was aged in 5 different types of casks, including American oak seasoned with sherry and bourbon, and first-fill European oak sherry casks.
