The base of the decanter is decorated with iconography emblematic of the marigold flowers and\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003epapel picado\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e(paper with cut-out designs) placed on the altars dedicated to the deceased. The bottle’s white glaze is representative of\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003ealfeñiques\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e(sugar confections). But arguably the most eye-catching design on the bottle is the depiction of a\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003ecalavera de azúcar\u003c\/em\u003e, or sugar skull.
