Established in 1973 by second master blender Keizo Saji, the Hakushu Distillery sits deep in the woods at the foot of the Japanese Southern Alps, where whisky is made with water of rare softness that has filtered slowly through ancient granite.

Suntory Whisky was founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii, and for three generations its blenders have chased the harmony of Japanese nature and craftsmanship through the art of Tsukuriwake: diversity in the making. Hakushu is the refreshingly herbal, gently smoky side of that house style, and the 12 Year is its clearest statement.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Basil, pine needle and green apple.

Palate: Sweet pear, mint and kiwi.

Finish: Green tea with subtle smoke.

How to Enjoy

Neat: champagne gold in the glass and best read undiluted.

Highball: the classic Japanese serve, with sparkling water and a lot of ice.

With a drop of water: pushes the herbal and orchard fruit notes forward.

Gift idea: the presentation box makes this an easy high end gift for a whisky collector.

Product Details

Distillery: Hakushu Distillery, Yamanashi, Japan

Style: Single Malt Japanese Whisky

Age: 12 years

Proof: 86 proof (43% ABV)

Bottle Size: 750mL

UPC: 088857001814

Shipping weight: 5 lb

Note: Product images are for illustrative purposes only.
