📖 What Makes Toast Different

Basil Hayden Toast introduced brown rice as the flavoring grain, replacing the traditional rye. Brown rice brings a softer, slightly sweeter character compared to rye's more assertive spice. After standard barrel aging, a portion of the bourbon is placed into toasted then flash-charred oak barrels for approximately two months. That finished bourbon is then blended back with the original to create the final product. The result is a bourbon unlike anything else in the category, and one of the only nationally available toasted barrel finishes from a major distillery.
