Buffalo Trace Kosher Straight Rye Whiskey is the boldest of Buffalo Trace's three cRc-certified kosher whiskeys. Made under the supervision of the Chicago Rabbinical Council, it's distilled from the same rye mash bill as the Sazerac Rye family, aged seven years in barrels set aside only for kosher spirits, and bottled at 94 proof on lines cleaned beforehand so it never touches non-kosher spirits.

It's released once a year after Passover in limited quantities, and it's the harder of the three to find. Buffalo Trace calls it "big and brash."

Tasting notes: rye spice and black pepper up front, then honey, dried fruit and toasted oak, with a long warm finish.
